INTENT TO OPT OUT OF HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION -The Taliaferro County Board of Education intends to opt out of the statewide adjusted base year ad valorem homestead exemption for the Taliaferro County School District. All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this matter to be held at the Taliaferro County 1<-12 School Media Center, 557 Broad St NW, Crawfordville, GA 30631 on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 6:00 pm. Additional public hearings on this matter will be held at Taliaferro County K-12 Media Center, 557 Broad St Crawfordville, GA 30631, on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 12:00 Noon and Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 6:00 pm.
The Taliaferro County Board of Education will provide an opportunity for public input on its proposed annual operating budget for the 2025-2026 school year. Such input may occur at public hearings to be held at the Board of Education office, 557 Broad Street NW Crawfordville, GA 30631 on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 12:00 PM and Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 2:00 PM. Input will also be taken at a called board meeting on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 6:30 PM where the tentative budget will be adopted. The proposed budget may be reviewed online at www.taliaferro.k12.ga.us on the Finance page.
