Instructional Technology Help
As a school that has been inundated with technology at a very fast pace, we need to be sure that we are providing our students with the best instructional practices within the learning environment when it comes to using all of this new technology. We expect a certain level of performance and integration from all faculty, staff, and students when it comes to instructional technology. Within this building, our computers are not simply un-filtered, un-monitored tools to access the internet and play games all day. These computers are, first and foremost, tools for learning. The devices allow us to explore, create, discover, and critique the work of others while learning to be responsible 21st Century citizens.
For our students, we expect that every student will be able to effectively and efficiently navigate both the internet and intranet in a responsible way, obeying all laws, rules, and regulations. Students should have mastery over any word processor, presentation creator, and spreadsheet editor that they may come across--this includes but is not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Sheets, eMaze, Prezzie, and a nearly endless list of others. Should students want to know about a scholastic topic, they will have the ability and the know-how to search out and find the answers to their inquiries, whether they involve advanced mathematics, a topic in their physics class, a translation in Spanish class, or their ABCs and 123s. Our students will learn about the use of both Macintosh and Windows operating systems, both in the computer context and the mobile context. The primary goal of this all-inclusive technology integration is to produce graduates that are computer literate, responsible, and prepared 21st Century citizens with high employability in an ever growing world.
